Position Summary:
Ensure efficient operations through careful coordination of Materials and Manufacturing efforts, providing Purchasing, Planning, and Manufacturing timely and accurate information with focus on developing production schedules and priorities to meet overall Planning objectives.
- Monitor production progress – 60%
- Utilize reporting functionality of specific ERP system along with manufacturing contacts and additional reporting tools to monitor successful completion of published production schedules (i.e. Ship Status reports, Stock Overviews, Material Movements).
- Ensure the final product meets deadlines.
- Plan and prepare production schedules for manufacturing according to customers’ orders.
- Monitor shortage. Isolate and resolve with buyers potential or realized material issues/shortages.
- Monitor the execution of production plan – 20%
- Focus on optimization of run quantities, minimum changeover, and achievement of 100% On Time Delivery. Ownership of successful schedule and execution of production activities, to meet goals. Production scheduling that optimizes labor and machine resources to meet Trans Pak objectives.
- Resolve any potential issues in a timely fashion.
- Analyze back orders, current orders and upcoming ones to prioritize, plan and schedule the production operations.
- Investigate production situations – 10%
- Analyze root causes and provide solutions.
- Oversee and assist in maintaining an orderly and clean environment while adhering to all safety requirements.
- Maintain reports for production planning activities and sequences – 10%.
- Work in conjunction with the General Manager (GM) to ensure accurate information is contained within planning measurement and analysis tools (i.e. cycle times in the Corporate Capacity Model). Communicate timely and accurate material or production issues that affect ability to meet the GM or that affect current scheduled production activities.
- Attendance is expected and should be reliable.
- Address and report all equipment defects or maintenance needs to maintain safe and efficient use.
- Follow all procedures, policies and know the equipment before using it.
- Speak up when observing something that may be unsafe or someone performing unsafe acts.
- Efficiently perform work according to standard operating procedures.
- Work together with other team members to accomplish tasks safely in a fast-paced production environment.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Bilingual English-Spanish speaker.
