Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Operations Engineer
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for increasing the productivity and effectiveness of the maintenance team by providing complete work order packages to the craftsmen and managing the preventative maintenance system.
This person will be responsible for managing the work order system; managing the tasking entry into the CMMS; setting the system up to maintain equipment history and finally creating, generating and managing all the required KPI’s for the professional Maintenance Team.
Responsible for preparation and planning of maintenance department, service company, and contractor activities. Verifies work orders, gathers information, and defines the scope of work. Plans equipment downtime, man-hour requirements, tool and part requirements while adhering to safety procedures, technical specifications, and best practice guidelines, using CMMS.
- Maintain a strong focus on the availability and uptime of the production machines.
- Assists with project scheduling for special projects as well as routine maintenance shutdowns.
- Assist with the supervision of maintenance and other employees as required.
- A Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in an engineering discipline is preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Minimum five years of related mechanical experience in a continuous process manufacturing environment.
- Experience in maintenance planning and scheduling is highly preferred.
- Requires proficient typing skills and to be an expert with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook e‑mail.
- SAP experience is a plus. Must be able to learn and effectively use SAP-type business systems and CMMS systems.
- Familiarization with World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and its tools is highly desirable.
- An individual must have the ability to adapt to evolving job requirements that require searching for solutions or new applications.
