Location: Central City

The Safety Manager will maintain effective safety operations across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and programs related to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all federal, state, and local EHS laws, regulations, codes, and site safety rules are observed.
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce safety policies and procedures tailored to our business operations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations (e.g., OSHA & EPA).
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate safety training for new hires and ongoing employee education.
  • Maintain safety records, including training logs, accident and incident reports, and inspection checklists.
  • Serve as the primary contact for workers’ compensation claims and coordinate return-to-work programs.
  • Promote a culture of safety through ongoing communication and employee engagement.
  • Monitor and manage safety-related equipment such as harnesses, first aid stations, eyewash stations, fire extinguishers, and emergency preparedness plans.
  • Oversee powered industrial equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts to ensure they are properly inspected, maintained, and operated only by trained and authorized personnel.
  • Ability to travel off-premises when necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Competencies
  • Extensive knowledge of current company safety policies and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct training.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Preferred

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Health and Occupational Safety
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in the field.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Ability to travel throughout facility as required to conduct safety inspections.
  • Ability to travel across the United States.
