Responsibilities- Co‑lead group counseling sessions and supervise and monitor juveniles committed to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
- Assist juveniles in interpersonal skill development; co‑lead group counseling sessions for assigned juveniles.
- Participate in juveniles’ individual treatment plan development; ensure security room checks are performed during shifts.
- Maintain shift logs regarding juveniles’ behaviors and events; complete incident reports and assist juveniles in complaint procedures.
- Provide routine building maintenance, housekeeping, and notify supervisors of corrections needed.
- Exert physical effort in the proper restraint of residents based on behavior.
- Assist youth with recreational and work‑related projects.
- Perform other physical efforts as required.
- Work overtime, any shift as needed and directed.
- Must successfully complete the Department of Juvenile Justice Training Academy within six months of employment.
- High school graduate.
- Three years of experience in the supervision and care of young adults (ages 12‑21) in a residential, correctional, group home, detention or day treatment program.
- OR Three years of experience working in a community office setting providing transportation services to court committed young adults (ages 12‑21).
- College will substitute for the required experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license prior to employment.
- Must successfully complete the Department of Juvenile Justice Training Academy within six months of employment.

Pay RangeCommonwealth of Kentucky provided pay range: $38,093.28/yr – $57,139.68/yr
Additional InformationShift premium available: $2.13/hr between 3:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., $1.13/hr between 11:01 p.m. and 6:59 a.m., and $2.13/hr on weekends and holidays. Overnight lodging and travel required for the ACT is provided by the department.
