Function

Provides maintenance and repair services for all Ramey-Estep (RE) equipment and facilities, including all RE facility locations.

Organizational duties & responsibilities
  • The primary responsibility of all staff is to ensure the safety and well-being of all Ramey-Estep/Re-group (RE) clients.
  • Supports the mission, vision, and values of RE. Facilitates and adheres to the agency’s code of ethics, policies, and procedures.
  • Supports all functions that attain and maintain accreditation and compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Supports and facilitates positive interaction with clients and staff by exhibiting both in-office and in-public when carrying out job duties: individual maturity, respect for others, a team-centered approach, maintenance of confidential information, and awareness and sensitivity to cultural and other differences in clients and staff.
  • Exhibits effective communication skills including proper use of agency communication systems.
  • Participates in appropriate professional development programs to attain and maintain competency.
  • Effectively manages financial and physical resources to achieve the mission of RE.
  • Reports incidents of abuse or potential abuse involving clients to the appropriate authorities and RE.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides maintenance for all RE facilities and grounds.
  • Responds to and resolves maintenance requests in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Maintains tools and equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional assignments for Maintenance Workers

Maintenance Workers may be assigned (at the Supervisor’s discretion) the additional duties of:
Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator, Auto Technician, or Custodian.

Waste water treatment plant operator

Provides maintenance, repair, and monitoring services for Waste Water Treatment Plant(s).

Essential duties and Responsibilities (Waste water treatment plant operator)
  • Provides maintenance and repair services for Waste Water Treatment Facilities.
  • Ensure Compliance with KPDES and other governing agencies related to Waste Water Treatment.
  • Responds to requests in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Ensures appropriate equipment safety standards are met.
Auto technician

Provides maintenance and repair services to ensure the quality and safety of vehicles and equipment and also performs small engine repairs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Auto Technician)
  • Provides maintenance and repair services for vehicles and equipment.
  • Responds to requests in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Ensure appropriate vehicle safety standards are met.
Custodian

Provides routine custodial services to all RE facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Custodian)
  • Provide custodial services for all RE facilities.
  • Respond to and resolve custodial requests in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Maintain tools and equipment.
  • Practice safe work habits at all times.
  • Informs the Shift Manager or designee of concerns/issues in the area of responsibility.
  • Assists in problem-solving and making recommendations in areas of responsibility.
  • Performs maintenance duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Working conditions/environment
  • Varied shifts within a twenty-four-hour schedule.
  • Holidays, weekends, and overtime may be required.
  • Meals are provided for staff when on campus.
  • Intense, unpredictable population with the possibility of verbal and physical aggression.
  • Fast-paced environment with the need for quick decisions to deal with any crisis that may arise.
  • Environment is both indoor and outdoor. The environment is at times loud and stressful.
Minimum job requirements
  • Education:

    High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience:

    Previous experience in facilities maintenance preferred.
  • Previous experience in vehicle maintenance preferred.
  • Previous experience in custodial services preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to lift equipment and materials of at least 70 pounds.
  • Ability to organize and complete routine maintenance services with minimal supervision.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and be insurable, CDL preferred.
  • Ability to understand and relate to the needs of clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to read, write and converse in English.
