Field Service Trainee

Summary

In the Field Service Trainee position, you will be in a primarily field-based, customer-facing role. You will assist the Field Service Technician with maintenance, repair, delivery, installation, and/or exchange of Brown Food service beverage, chemical, and commercial kitchen equipment to maximize customer satisfaction and sales. Equipment includes fountain beverage dispensers, cappuccino, tea and coffee dispensers, restaurant chemical dispensers, commercial fryers, and dishwashers.

Working out of our Louisa, KY facility, you will be an essential part of a team that has been servicing customers and delivering fine foods since 1942.

• Assist with scheduled equipment installations, preventative maintenance, and service for our customers
• Collaborate with other Field Service team members and outside sales representatives as needed
• Provide quality customer service, including driving to customer locations to deliver and/or repair equipment
• Assist in delivery, exchange, and moving of beverage equipment
• Load and unload beverage equipment for delivery and/or return
• Communicate with customers and supervisors regarding delivery and pickup status
• Assist with regular cycle counts on parts and equipment inventory
• Ensure sufficient parts inventory is maintained on the company vehicle and replenished as needed
• Assist with rebuild and repair parts and equipment
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Perform duties based on a flexible schedule
• Conduct work according to company policies, work procedures, and processes
• Conform with, abide by, and re‑reinforce all government and health department regulations and policies
• Be flexible to some overnights and occasional weekends
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High School diploma or GED required
• 1‑3 years of general work experience required
• Demonstrated mechanical, technical, and electrical aptitude
• Forklift certification preferred

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Valid driver’s license and a motor vehicle driving history that meets company guidelines
• Possess mechanical skills such as the use of hand tools and power tools
• Possess excellent communication skills
• Be a self‑starter who can work in a fast‑paced environment
• Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks professionally and timely
• Ability to interact with all types of individuals from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds
• Ability to follow manufacturers’ specifications and schematics
• Able to maintain a high level of visual attention and mental concentration for significant periods of time
• Able to use necessary office equipment, computer software, hardware, and equipment

• Ability to do heavy lifting on a daily basis; must be able to lift 75 lbs
• Must be able to work standing for long periods of time
• Must be able to work in various work environments, including but not limited to heights, confined spaces, and outdoors
• Work involves walking, talking and hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects. Vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to focus when working on small components
