Position DetailsThe position will be primarily located at Lithgow Hospital within the Department of Emergency Medicine.
Successful applicants must have already been awarded their Fellowship with FACRRM or FRACGP or equivalent specialist recognition as provided for by the Health Insurance Act 1997.
Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.

Qualifications- Full registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) or equivalent recognition, and at least 5 years’ experience in delivering and managing emergency care.
- Sound clinical knowledge in Emergency Medicine demonstrated through successful clinical practice and participation in quality assurance activities relevant to the specialty.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to teaching and junior medical staff supervision consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards.
- Professional behaviour modelling appropriate for a Senior Medical Practitioner.
- Sound clinical knowledge in the subspecialty of Emergency Medicine demonstrated by relevant qualifications or appropriate post‑Fellowship clinical experience.
- Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied, or clinical research within the Department.
In accordance with the Health Services Act 1997, and Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination 2014.
