Microbiology Analyst – 2nd shift; Edenton, NC

Overview

JLA International, a Leader in Food Safety, is now accepting applications for a Microbiology Analyst – 2nd shift position at its facility in Edenton, NC.

• An associate degree (required); a BS or BA in Microbiology or related field (preferred)
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficiency with data entry and computer applications
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory

• Analyze food samples for pathogens via PCR and immunoassay
• Perform various microbe enumerations, compositing and plating samples using aseptic technique
• Data entry and laboratory reporting
• Quality control and media preparation
• Dish washing and other duties as assigned

This is a full-time position with eligibility for standard benefits after a brief waiting period. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 12:00pm – 8:30pm. The laboratory operates weekends, so candidates must be willing to work some weekends.
