Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, qualified Mental Health provider to join our team and provide crucial support to adults facing severe mental illness. The ideal candidate will be committed to improving the lives of individuals through evidence-based therapy approaches, empathy, and a holistic approach to mental health care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop personalized treatment plans for clients with severe mental illness.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based modalities tailored to each client's unique needs.
  • Provide substitute coverage for Somerset Therapeutic Rehabilitation programs.
  • Monitor and track client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatric nurse practitioners, peer support specialists, program director, and program support staff to provide comprehensive care.
  • Offer crisis intervention and support as needed to clients experiencing acute distress.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in mental health treatment modalities and integrate them into practice as appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with community partners including personal care home administrators, staff, and division of adult guardianship.
  • Provide education and support to clients' families and caregivers, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in Counseling.
  • Valid state licensure or certification as a Mental Health Therapist / Counselor.
  • Experience working with adults with severe mental illness in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Commitment to cultural competence and the ability to work with a diverse client population.
