Overview
The Licensed Psychological Associate, under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, will deliver comprehensive mental health services to patients within correctional and detention facilities. Responsibilities include conducting psychological assessments, providing therapy, and developing treatment plans tailored to individual needs. This role requires collaboration with facility staff to ensure effective care and support for patients in a correctional setting.
Responsibilities- Provides clinical and consultation services in line with company policies and standards of the APA, NCCHC, and ACA, including diagnosis, treatment, psychological testing, evaluations, treatment planning, counseling, and crisis management under the supervision of a Licensed Psychologist.
- Ensures that clinical services adhere to ethical and professional standards, and participates in case staffing, care management meetings, and quality improvement activities.
- Completes clinical documentation professionally and promptly, maintaining data for departmental statistics, and develops goals and objectives for clinical services in consultation with supervisors.
- Delivers staff training on mental health issues and may assist in the development and refinement of facility policies and procedures to meet recognized standards.
- Participates in a 24-hour crisis intervention system, promptly notifies the supervising Psychologist of serious incidents, and provides timely updates on clinical concerns impacting clients or the mental health services program.
Education:
- Master’s degree in psychology.
Experience:
- Experience with mental health delivery systems. Experience in the mental field that indicates knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of psychological disorders and psychological evaluation techniques, including psychological assessment instruments.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Licensed as a Licensed Psychological Associate in the state of Kentucky.
