About D&S Community ServicesD&S Community Services, part of the Sevita family, provides community‑based services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities- Assist people with personal hygiene and support individuals who may have behavioral challenges and complex needs.
- Perform meal preparation, medication administration, housekeeping, and personal care (feeding, dressing, hygiene, toileting).
- Provide total care, including lifting, transferring, and using gait belts and Hoyer lifts.
- Support participants with developmental goals such as budgeting, exercise, and nutrition.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Valid driver’s license held for at least 12 months (permits and intermediates do not qualify).
- Reliable vehicle with current insurance and registration for use throughout your shift.
- Must attend a paid orientation for two weeks, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (regardless of employment type).
- Education:
If younger than 21, high school diploma or equivalent. - Experience:
Six months in human services, direct care, or care coordination preferred. - Skills:
Communication, adaptability, multi‑tasking, teamwork, time‑management. - Behaviors:
Patient, compassionate, reliable, responsible. - Driver’s License:
Full and valid for at least 12 months. - Vehicle:
Registered vehicle with proof of insurance.
