Credentials
:
High School Diploma/GED; must be willing to attend thirty (30) hours of peer support training.
Special Skills/Knowledge
:
Ability to maintain effective, professional, and positive relationships with staff, volunteers and program participants is required. Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle. Experience of living with substance use disorder and have at least two (2) years in active recovery.
Primary Functions
:
- Provide supportive services to individuals, including mentoring, coaching, advocacy, and arranging and/or chairing self‑help meetings.
- Facilitate short‑term educational groups (i.e. relapse prevention, life skills) and provide linkage to referral and community resources.
- Assist implementing participant’s treatment/recovery plans. Transporting program participants in personal vehicle may be require. Attend and participate in training activities and meetings is required.
- Assist with identifying barriers each participant faces and in developing a solution for them. Perform any other duties as assigned.
Shifts/Days:
Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm; must be willing and able to work some evenings and weekends.
