Overview

Spring View Physician Prac LLC

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent is to present for work in a timely manner, groomed professionally, and perform their job function in accordance with all Spring View Hospital standards of performance, policies and procedures. Each employee is responsible for upholding the Spring View Hospital Values, namely: respect for every individual, delivery of quality service, constant pursuit of excellence and commitment to integrity.

In addition, each employee is responsible to abide by and uphold the Spring View Hospital Standards of Performance.

He or she must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of anatomy. The technologist must demonstrate thorough knowledge and skill and understanding of image quality. Must be able to communicate to patients the nature of the tests and relieve their anxiety. Must demonstrate an understanding of Radiographic Positioning, Radiographic Technique, Radiation Safety, Imaging Equipment, Infection Control and Quality Control techniques. Presents a pleasant and helpful manner to patients, physicians, subordinates and other members of the department staff.

Employee assists in maintaining a work area free from hazards. The ARRT must perform routine diagnostic imaging studies, as needed. Must vary work schedule. The patient population of Spring View Hospital ranges from neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. The ARRT Radiographer Technologist must provide services to all patients, families, and physicians serving this population.

The technologist will also directly assist the Orthopedic Surgeon in the following ways:
Preparing for upcoming clinics including review of patient list, prep of pre-visit ancillary orders, ensuring test results and prior notes have been received and collated, and ordering and maintaining stock in exam and procedure rooms;
Rooming patients, taking vital signs and brief visit intake;
Assisting physicians with procedures including dressing changes, suture removal, minor in-office procedures, injection preparation, pulling pins and wound care;
Applying and removing immobilization devices such as splints and fiberglass/plaster casts;
Providing patient and family education regarding the care of their immobilization devices or other durable medical goods;
Scheduling other ancillary services per physician request; cleaning exam rooms, exam tables and equipment between patients and at the end of the day. Patient care is performed in accordance with physicians orders, and work is supervised by a physician.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: The Radiographer must be registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and hold a General Certificate with the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Radiation Operators Program. Employee must be a high school graduate or GED and a graduate of a JRC/CAHEA approved program in Radiologic Technology. CPR required. One year recent experience preferred.
