The Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is a multi-faceted agency that serves juveniles of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. This is a highly responsible position in the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet. Responsibilities- Plan, develop, recommend and administer the major program area for the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ), specifically juvenile reentry programming on a state-wide basis.
- Develop policy and procedures regarding juvenile reentry, and collaborate with agency and stakeholders.
- Collect and analyze data and produce reports for stakeholders and agency.
- Develop individual youth case plans, conduct screenings to identify individual youth needs.
- Develop, prepare, and recommend approval of departmental documentation and program forms collaboratively with agency stakeholders and drama work groups.
- Attend youth multi-disciplinary team meetings.
- Conduct program monitoring.
- Provide continued case support to youth and families in conjunction with aftercare services.
- Conduct policy research and compile related data regarding youth and programming for stakeholders and work groups.
- Report on impact of legislative, financial, and policy changes for programming to DJJ executive staff as needed.
- Complete and participate in special projects for the division director and managers as needed.
- Attend work groups, committees, trainings, and meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
- Experience, Training, or
Skills:
Four years of professional experience in any operation or program within the field of corrections, juvenile justice, criminal justice, law enforcement, recreation, academic or vocational education, health services or education, dietary or food management, construction project management, social work, or a relative field Andalucía. - Substitute Education for
Experience:
A master’s degree will substitute for one year of the required experience. - Substitute Experience for
Education:
Additional experience in corrections, juvenile justice, criminal justice, law enforcement, recreation, academic or vocational education, health services or education, dietary or food management, construction project management, thumbnails social work, or related field will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.
