Expected salary range of $119,700 to $133,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
The Senior Structuring Analyst plays an integral role within the Portfolio Management and Strategy group. The senior analyst will be responsible for pricing and valuation of structured gas transactions including physical index, basis and fixed price products, as well as storage and transport related asset valuation transactions. Based on support being provided to C&I vs MM business lines, the senior analyst will participate in Load Auctions for various LDCs, Government Aggregation load contracts, responding to RFPs for large Commercial and Industrial facilities, as well as supporting deal valuation and campaign pricing for SMB and Residential customers.
A strong understanding of natural gas markets including LDC and Pipeline dynamics and related tariff structures, supply/demand fundamentals in constrained gas supply areas and ICE trading market dynamics is essential, along with an understanding of option theory and other statistical methods. To support the mass market business line a further in‑depth understanding of the mass market tariff structures of various LDCs will be required, including asset release programs and associated capacity costs and supply cost optimization.
The senior analyst will be expected to participate in the valuation of transactions across a wide geographical area spanning multiple Pipelines, States and Utilities across the United States. Knowledge of tariff structures of various pipelines and LDCs will be required along with excellent communication skills to collaborate with multiple Sales and Trading team members. The analyst must also effectively communicate recommendations based on complex analysis to a variety of audiences, including senior management.
Duties And Accountabilities
- Apply deep understanding of natural gas pipeline dynamics ICE traded market behavior LDC and pipeline tariff structures and MM asset release tariffs to track and assess real‑time price formation in the natural gas market and support accurate and timely valuation of physical index basis and fixed price transactions across primary firm firm and secondary firm service levels including valuation and structuring of asset release transactions for storage and transportation assets as well as load auctions government aggregations SMB and residential programs.
- Collaborate and communicate frequently with Sales and Trading teams to ensure transaction risk and reward structures are favorable to the organization and apply strong commercial and analytical judgment to provide oversight and support for deal valuation and booking assumptions.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to improve systems processes and controls to drive efficiency and scalability while fostering strong cross‑functional relationships with business partners and IT teams to enhance pricing and valuation system functionality.
- Effectively communicate recommendations based on complex analyses to a variety of audiences including senior management.
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Finance, Economics or equivalent experience
- 5‑years experience in the energy industry
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- Ability to apply strong analytical and valuation skills to price complex products.
- Ability to prioritize work, manage time effectively and manage workload efficiently.
- Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or Engineering
- Experience executing and managing trades for physical basis and index natural gas products
- Energy risk management and transaction booking experience
