Expected salary range: $146,700 to $163,000, varying with experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus, 401(k) with company match, employee stock purchase program, medical, dental, vision, robust wellness program, paid vacation, holidays, and sick days.

Primary Purpose

The Principal Structuring Analyst plays an integral role within the Portfolio Management and Strategy group. The analyst is responsible for pricing and valuation of structured gas transactions, including physical index, basis, and fixed price products, as well as storage and transport asset valuation transactions. The analyst leads structuring and participation in load auctions, government aggregation load contracts, and responses to RFPs for large commercial and industrial facilities, supporting deal valuation and campaign pricing for SMB and residential customers across a wide geographical area spanning multiple pipelines, states, and utilities across the United States.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately and timely value natural gas transactions including physical index, basis and fixed price products for all service levels.
  • Value and structure asset release transactions, including storage and transport assets.
  • Value load auctions, government aggregations, SMB and residential programs.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Trading teams daily to ensure overall risk/reward structure of transactions is favorable to the organization.
  • Apply commercial and analytical experience to drive oversight and support of deal valuation and booking assumptions.
  • Pursue opportunities to improve systems and processes to drive greater efficiencies.
  • Communicate recommendations based on complex analyses to a variety of audiences, including senior management.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in engineering, finance, economics, mathematics, science, or equivalent experience.
  • Eight years of experience in the energy industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to apply strong analytical and valuation skills to price complex products.
  • Ability to prioritize, communicate and perform under time constraints and work with a variety of stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or MBA in finance, economics, energy or related field.
  • Trading experience for physical basis and index products for natural gas.
  • Energy risk and transaction booking experience.
