- This position is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and tracking of projects at the facility to ensure the projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Lead preventive/predictive maintenance activities to ensure safe and reliable equipment operation in the most cost-effective manner.
- The incumbent will support various plant operations and maintenance groups with engineering-based troubleshooting, problem analysis, and resolution.
- Maintain and support continuous improvement of maintenance activities for unit and equipment outages.
- Complete reports on unit performance and outages as required.
- Must be able to conduct work activities regarding environmental rules and regulations and regularly review assignments to assure optimum efficiency.
- Develop, negotiate, and implement contracts with contractors, vendors, engineering firms, and others as required to support plant operations and maintenance activities.
- Acquire and maintain NBIC “R” Stamp certification for Certified Weld Inspector and Contractors Licenses as required by the Weld Quality Management System.
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or an alternate combination of education and experience, which results in equivalent job knowledge.
- Requires thorough knowledge of utility power generation with thorough knowledge of plant maintenance procedures, project management, and plant performance.
- Must be able to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria using judgment in identifying and implementing enhancements, adaptations, and modifications to existing and/or new equipment in a power plant environment. Requires an elevated level of judgment, analytic ability, and creativity, such as investigating moderately complex problems or situations, analyzing information, and recommending solutions.
