By joining our Project Delivery & Preservation Branch II as a Transportation Engineering Technologist III in Henry County, you’ll have the opportunity to oversee activities on major construction, maintenance and utility relocation projects.
Summary of Responsibilities- Use technical expertise on roadway projects
- Monitor projects to ensure crew coordination is fulfilled and safe practices are being followed
- Quality assurance of projects to ensure compliance with cabinet and federal laws
- Organize and conduct meetings with contractors and cabinet officials
- Maintain, prepare and review engineering documents
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
- Technical engineering experience
- Construction experience
- Valid driver’s license

Work is performed in the office and in the field. Will be exposed to risks inherent to construction sites and other types of work zones which requires the following of safety procedures.

Minimum RequirementsEDUCATION:
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in engineering technology, construction management, engineering science, engineering mechanics, computer science, data science, geology, earth science, industrial technology, industrial drafting, design technology or construction technology. OR Graduate with an associate's degree in Engineering Technology with completion of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Civil Engineering Technology Scholarship Program.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR
SKILLS:
Four years of engineering-related experience.
- Possess a valid EIT certification issued by the Kentucky State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
- Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree OR an associate degree in an engineering field
- High school
- Must have four years of engineering-related experience with the first education option above;
- Must have seven years of engineering-related experience with the second education option above;
- Must have ten years of engineering-related experience in which related technical or vocational training will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of four years with the third education option above;
- Must have eight years of bridge inspection experience under the supervision of a Qualified Inspection Team Leader, plus successful completion of a Federal Highway Administration approved comprehensive bridge inspection training course with the fourth education option above.
Must possess a valid driver's license prior to employment in this job classification.
