POSITION TITLE:
New Model Engineering Technician
SHIFT: 1st
SECTION OR DEPARTMENT:
Electronics Division, Quality Department
REPORTS TO:
New Model Lead Engineer
LOCATION:
Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc. Edmonton, KY
- The new NME Technician will work collaboratively with Design, Quality, Process Engineering and Manufacturing.
- New programs and change point control activities are properly tracked and documented.
- The NME Technician will also support Robotic Process Automation (RPA) initiatives and assist with digital enhancements to existing systems.
- This support role will focus on identifying automation opportunities, supporting RPA development, and driving operational efficiency across business functions.
- Compile analysis report, report to OEM and track status to closure.
- Ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, be self-motivated, able to work in a fast-paced environment with a passion for improving business processes through technology.
- Supports and communications with all departments to identify potential quality concerns and improvement activities.
- Perform process capability studies.
- Support validation testing and failure analysis.
- Drive continuous improvement efficient alternatives.
- New Model Engineering Technician – HS, GED, technical certificate. Issue and track customer change requests (CCR) through closure for all new projects and changes to current mass production material.
- Process customer changes for new programs and changes to current mass production material.
- Assist RPA developers in mapping workflows and designing automation solutions using tools such as UiPath and Power Automate.
- Integration and governance of stackable ERP solutions that improve the accuracy of BOM management, materials data integrity, Engineering changepoint management and efficient materials procurement.
- Good Communication and Computer Skills.
- Ensuring BOM accuracy to support MRP, costing, scheduling, and procurement execution.
- Experience may be substitute for education.
- Experience in Microsoft Office computer programs.
- Works with Design, Quality, Process and Manufacturing, in other departments daily.
- Reports to Lead Engineer of New Model.
- Work with other Quality Team members in team activity to support projects.
