Assignment

Details

Domestic training in Pax River, MD and Rancho Bernardo, CA for 6+ months. After training, deployment to Japan, Italy, United Arab Emirates, or Guam for a minimum of 24 months. If no immediate deployment is available, the candidate may be relocated to a core U.S. location.

Role Overview

The FSR will be embedded with a U.S. Navy unit and serve as the system subject‑matter expert. Responsibilities include providing system hardware and software training, supporting sailors with system operations, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance. The Navy intends for sailors to be primary operators and maintainers, with the FSR offering training and assistance as needed to keep the system mission‑capable.

Principal Test Conductor Responsibilities
  • Interface with NGC and customer Flight Engineers, aircraft maintenance Technicians, U.S. Navy service members, and Subsystem SMEs to sustain operations.
  • Serve as the primary interface between maintenance, design, and flight test engineering.
  • Operate Vehicle and Payload Test Controller (VTC/PTC) operations during aircraft start‑up/shutdown for launch and recovery, conduct static ground tests, and troubleshoot.
Essential Functions
  • Provide inputs to update Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMS).
  • Review and provide inputs during engineering development; execute Detailed Test Requirements, Acceptance Test Procedures, and Ground Test Plans.
  • Install, operate, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and modify equipment in accordance with IETMS and engineering directives (TDs/ECRs/TEIs/AMRs/MAFs).
  • Perform organizational/depot‑level maintenance and technical support on equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and field locations.
  • Develop knowledge of all aircraft systems, VTC/PTC, engineering design and software; perform field integration, troubleshooting, and repair of air vehicle systems at customer locations, including flight line or hangar operations.
  • Interpret and trace electrical and air vehicle schematics; perform essential electrical and RF troubleshooting using multimeter, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, TDR, etc.
  • Support review and analysis of engineering schematics, supplier design data, and functional test requirements, including acceptance, qualification, and system integration on the air vehicle.
Basic Qualifications
  • Principal Test Conductor must have 9 years of related professional/military experience OR a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience, OR a Master’s degree and 3 years of related experience.
  • Willingness and ability to complete required training in Pax River, MD and Rancho Bernardo, CA.
  • Willingness and ability to support an international assignment in Japan, Italy, UAE, or Guam for at least 24 months.
  • Willingness to relocate to a core U.S. location if needed.
  • Ability to pass a new hire physical if required.
  • Must have DoD Secret clearance (enrolled in CEE) and the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance within a reasonable time.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Experience with aircraft ground test operations.
  • Capability to travel worldwide and demonstrate leadership as a technical expert.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including briefing test results to senior leadership.
