Manufacturing Engineering Technician – Nights & Weekends
Base pay range: $18.00/hr - $25.00/hr
About the RoleThe Engineering Technician in Manufacturing plays a critical role in supporting engineering and production teams to ensure efficient, high‑quality manufacturing processes. This position focuses on troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing equipment and systems to minimize downtime and improve productivity. The role involves collaborating closely with engineers to implement process improvements and assist in developing new manufacturing techniques. Responsibilities include documenting procedures, conducting tests, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
The Technician contributes to delivering reliable products on time while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Associate degree or technical diploma in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment with hands‑on technical responsibilities.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and maintenance principles.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards such as OSHA and ISO.
- Certification as a Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE) or similar credential.
- Assist engineering and production teams in the setup, calibration, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on the production floor to minimize downtime and maintain product quality.
- Support process improvement projects by collecting data, performing tests, and implementing engineering solutions.
- Document standard operating procedures, maintenance logs, and technical reports to ensure compliance and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including quality assurance, safety, and supply chain to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical documentation for accurate setup and calibration of machinery.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to support continuous process improvements and efficiency gains.
- Familiarity with digital management systems to track maintenance activities and collaborate with engineering and quality teams.
