JOB DESCRIPTION:
Psychologist/Psychometrist
Valid Kentucky Certificate with an endorsement as a school psychologist.
REPORTS TO:
Director of Special Education
To provide assessment, consultation and counseling services; assist with specially identified program development, implementation and evaluation; and attend appropriate meetings; and to support the Mission Statement of the Estill County School System.
Performance Responsibilities- Evaluates students who may need specially designed instruction within mandated timelines.
- Completes re-evaluation of all identified disabled students within mandated timelines.
- Attends SBARC meetings following the completion of evaluations.
- Assists with Child Find activities.
- Assists the Director of Special Education in development and implementation of special education policies, procedures and programs.
- Administers the appropriate battery of tests to include individual intelligence tests.
- Completes behavior observations when required.
- Provides written reports and maintenance of appropriate records.
- Provides consultation and assistance to the special and regular education teachers in carrying out behavior/academic modification programs.
- Provides consultation and training for relevant topics to district staff.
- Provides individual group counseling to students as needed.
- Provides consultation and counseling services to parents as needed.
- Trained in the KCCRB Critical Incident Stress Management Model.
- Maintains confidentiality of students and/or staff.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education/Superintendent.
Terms of Employment: Days and salary pursuant to district salary schedules.
