QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certificate:
Current valid Kentucky Certificate appropriate for the position. - Degree:
Master’s Degree in Psychology. - Experience:
Has experience in diagnosing, evaluating, and counseling.
JOB GOAL: To enable students to derive the fullest possible educational experience from school by promoting their sense of self and by treating psychological or mental health problems.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participates in the psychological assessment of children K-12.
- Develops system-wide programs and schedules for annual group testing.
- Assists in the administration of group tests of intelligence, aptitude, and achievement.
- Administers tests and recommends placement for exceptional children.
- Consults regularly with teachers, counselors, and school administrators regarding classroom management programs and serves as a resource person.
- Evaluates on an ongoing basis the district testing program.
- Conducts statistical analyses of test results and prepares informative reports for the Board, professional staff, and parents.
- Assists in planning and conducting inservice educational activities for the improvement of teaching practices in the areas of test construction, test administration and test results evaluation.
- Maintains case records on all referred students.
- Cooperates with mental health and social welfare agencies.
- Keeps informed regarding research in psychological and educational testing and the development of improved tests for use in educational and counseling programs.
- Performs other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by the Superintendent.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year to be established by the Board and reflected in district salary schedules and individual employee contract.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.

Salary: $52,577 to $77,683 Per Year
