the livingston county school system is accepting applications for the head archery coach for lchs. Applicants must hold or be willing to obtain coaching credentials required by the khsaa. Applicants must be committed to building a winning program while demonstrating principles of sportmanship expected from the khsaa and the school district. position title: head coach

responsible to: principal

basic function: to enable each student an opportunity to learn the skills needed to effectively and safely participate in extra-curricular activities.

performance responsibilities

promotes sports in the schools and community.

plans the assigned athletic program.

organizes and supervises practices.

teaches individual fundamental skills, team play, team strategy and rules and regulations of the game.

teaches the elements of good sportsmanship and self-control that displays professionalism. Respects the integrity and judgment of sports officials.

checks eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage and parent consent.

provides students a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance.

conducts learning experiences, with small groups of student athletes.

recommends the purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate for the health, safety and welfare of student athletes.

attends all teacher in-service training, professional meetings, and staff development workshops.

develops good rapport and lines of communication with individuals and groups to include, but not limited to, players, parents, school personnel, officials, media representatives, etc.

performs related duties as assigned.

maintains regular attendance and punctuality.

minimum qualifications: high school diploma or ged.

terms of employment: salary and work year to be established by the board of education.

evaluation: performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of board policy.
