Position: First Year Experience Peer Lead Ambassador
Location: Highland Heights

Overview

First-Year Experience is hiring a highly motivated Northern Kentucky University student. The First-Year Experience Peer Lead Ambassador will support the department's Wellness programming as part of the Amplify

NKY Grant by assisting with tabling, events, marketing, development, and engagement initiatives. This position will collaborate with the Director of First-Year Experience and Programming and the First-Year Peer Lead Ambassador, and will assist in assessing the reception of the wellness programming by reviewing data for the First-Year Experience of fice. The role is in person with some virtual possibilities.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist with designing, planning, evaluating, and revising FYE Wellness program activities, programming, and logistics.
  • Take a leadership role in all wellness programming initiatives in the department.
  • Design wellness events around the Ten Dimensions of wellness for FY students.
  • Assist with day‑of coordination of academic events and trainings.
  • Collect, enter, analyze, and make recommendations based on evaluation data.
Engagement Responsibilities
  • Help raise awareness of wellness‑related resources for first‑year students.
  • Serve as positive role models of student success.
  • Assist with department initiatives to engage the campus community in the ten dimensions of wellness.
  • Attend and contribute to bi‑weekly meetings and required trainings.
  • Work with Student Wellness Peer Ambassadors and Lead Ambassadors.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and enthusiasm for NKU, health and wellness promotion, involvement in campus activities, and a desire to help new students.
  • Ideal major:
    Organizational Leadership, Social Work, Communication Studies, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, Art, Business, or a related major.
  • Leadership, successful independent work, organization of time and prioritization of responsibilities, data analytics skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, critical thinking, beginner to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suites, Canva, etc., ability to work collaboratively and independently.
Minimum Education

High School Diploma

Pay Rate

Up to $11/hour
