The Field Support Specialist will assist new and returning Ameri Corps members (coaches) placed in high schools, ATCs and alternative schools with system setup and maintenance at their host site, collection of data, recruitment of core students, observation and coaching of member skill-building and provide ongoing support to members in order to achieve success throughout their service. In the college portion of their work, the FSS will assist Ameri Corps members (coaches) placed in colleges and universities.
The FSS will provide individualized support to help coaches navigate their host site and their unique service assignments. As appropriate, FSS will also provide support to the Recruitment and Strategic Partnerships Manager in the implementation of the Peer Leader program.
Field Support
- Work with coaches referred by the KCC program managers as needing additional support in various areas such as the following examples. (In person and virtual)
- Work with first year KCC Ameri Corps members (coaches) to establish systems, build relationships, recruit core students. Primarily on-site at members’ schools but also through zoom/Teams and email.
- Support new and returning coaches in strengthening one-on-one conversations with students, presentations, events, college visits, and other activities.
- Work with coaches at the end of the program year to secure documents and ensure smooth transition if coach is leaving the position.
Program Development
- Work with the KCC program managers in program development areas as needed, such as:
- Training/support for KCC Ambassadors.
- Development of training sessions.
- Development of programs for parents
- Associate’s Degree and one-year experience required.
- Successful candidates will have completed at least one full term as a Kentucky College Coaches Ameri Corps member or other college and career coaching program.
- Preferred two to four terms of service/experience.
- Ability to drive or ability to arrange other transportation. (Mileage reimbursement/Rental Car, etc. is available)
