Qualifications: As the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable according to Kentucky State Statutes and Kentucky Administrative Regulations.

Reports to: Principal/Athletic Director

Supervises: Assigned Students

Job Goal: To help students appreciate the values of discipline and sportsmanship.

• General Knowledge Base:
  Fundamentals of various sports;
  Health and safety regulations;
  Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
• Essential Job Functions:
  
  Assist coaches on one or more sports;
  Understand and follow oral and written directions;
  Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Promotes sports in the schools and community.
• Plans the assigned athletic program.
• Organizes and supervises practices.
• Teaches individual fundamental skills, team play, team strategy and rules and regulations of the game.
• Teaches good sportsmanship and self-control.
• Checks eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage and parent consent.
• Provides students a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance.
• Conducts learning experiences, with small groups of student athletes.
• Recommends the purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate for the health, safety and welfare of student athletes.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
• Adheres to school board policies and administrative procedures.
• Adheres to the state Professional Code of Ethics.
• Demonstrates punctuality and good attendance for all duties.
