To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.
Job Responsibilities- Understand broadcast radio and digital sales and how both work together to develop effective advertising solutions.
- Manage the day‑to‑day operations and budgets of the radio stations.
- Manage and lead a staff and ensure staff members complete tasks and meet deadlines.
- Possess knowledge of digital, online, and social media platforms used in the radio industry.
- Develop successful advertising and marketing solutions and campaigns for clients using multi‑media platforms and deliver the campaigns to the radio team.
- Set weekly and monthly sales goals and budgets for the radio station and hold accountable for the goals and budgets.
- Engage in professional development opportunities provided and paid for by Forcht Broadcasting, which includes taking online digital marketing courses from the Radio Advertising Bureau.
- Find new advertising and community partners to invest in the radio stations.
- Represent Forcht Broadcasting at various community activities and meetings such as chamber of commerce meetings, ribbon‑cutting ceremonies, etc.
- Keep up to date on industry and company‑wide radio practices and developments.
- Ensure the radio stations’ programming is relevant, focused, appropriate, and competitive.
- Meet or talk with frequently the Forcht Broadcasting Radio and Digital President/CEO, providing updates on market financials and progress. >
- Ensure the radio stations are compliant with Federal Communication Commission regulations and Forcht Group policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the President/CEO that may be specific duties related to the radio market.
Attend annual Forcht Broadcasting General Managers meetings.

- 5+ years of radio management or extensive media leadership experience preferred.
- Prior leadership experience in community media, non‑profits, or radio broadcasting.
- Strong understanding of broadcast operations and sales.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in audio editing software and broadcasting equipment.
- Negotiation and contract management experience.
- Creative thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to analyze and interpret audience data.
- Knowledge of FCC regulations and compliance protocols.
- Experience with social media and digital marketing.
- Understanding of financial management and budgeting.
- Network of industry contacts and relationships.
- Proven track record of increasing station revenue and market share.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proven ability to develop and implement successful strategies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to community service and local programming.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Communications, or related field preferred.
- Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing so others will be able to understand.
- Ability to identify and understand the speech of another person.
- Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
- Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to demonstrate manual dexterity through typing on a keyboard, sorting through paperwork, reaching and grabbing objects.
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to operate standard business equipment such as a fax, computer, printer, copier, etc.
- Ability to look at a computer screen for several hours.
- Ability to travel to other locations as needed.
- Ability to meet in person with clients on a daily basis.
- Must be able to work on a flexible schedule that at times may include late working hours or weekend hours.
