Full-time position assisting the Teacher in providing services and implementing a planned center-based curriculum for 3-5 year old children.

Duties and Responsibilities

Each employee is expected to strive for excellence in their tasks, exercising good judgment and fulfilling the agency's mission. Employees should stay informed of community issues, regulations, research, and trends related to their work. Assisting with fund development and integrating agency programs are also expected.

Employees must adhere to policies such as:

  • Head Start Program Performance Standards
  • KCEOC Child Development Policies and Procedures
  • KCEOC Personnel Policies and Procedures
  • KCEOC Financial Policies and Procedures
  • KCEOC Travel Policies and Procedures
  • KCEOC Facility Security and Emergency Procedures
  • CACFP Rules and Regulations

The duties of Teacher Aide include but are not limited to:

  • Implementing Head Start standards and promoting school readiness.
  • Understanding the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework.
  • Working cooperatively with staff in planning and delivering services for children aged 0-5.
  • Becoming competent in designated computer programs related to the program.
  • Compiling reports and participating in self-assessment processes.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of children and families.
  • Generating non-federal share (in-kind) for program operation.
  • Obtaining required training hours and maintaining CPR and First Aid certifications.

Additional duties include assisting in classroom activities, supporting parent participation, and collaborating with Family Child Advocates to meet family needs. Responsibilities also involve maintaining a safe environment, assisting with daily routines, and supporting discipline methods.

Minimum qualifications include a Child Development Associate Degree or equivalent education and work experience. Additional requirements include a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
