Position: Telemetry Nurse (RN) in Kenton, OH
A registered nurse role is available on a medical telemetry unit specializing in cardiac and medical patients. This contract position requires expertise in telemetry nursing, particularly with cardiac care, pre/post cardiac catheterization management, and alcohol detox patients. The unit is 36 beds with a high cardiac patient volume, including chest pain, CHF exacerbations, and cardiac rule-outs. Candidates must hold a valid RN license and demonstrate proficiency in monitoring and titrating drips such as Cardizem, Nitro, and Heparin, with no pressors involved.

Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
  • Current RN license in the state or compact licensure
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience; at least 6 months in an acute care hospital setting preferred
  • Dysrhythmia exam required (study guide provided)
  • ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke certifications required
  • Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization patients
  • Ability to manage cardiac drips and telemetry monitoring
  • Strong clinical judgment and patient advocacy skills
  • Proficient with electronic health record systems preferred
  • Critical care or progressive care certification preferred
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, create and evaluate care plans
  • Administer medications and manage patient care per state practice and facility policies
  • Serve as primary contact for patient care coordination and safety advocacy
  • Manage complex multi-system patients and respond promptly to clinical changes
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams and families to deliver holistic care
  • Participate in quality improvement projects and maintain professional standards
Work Schedule and Location:
  • 12-hour night shifts on an every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday schedule
  • Navy blue scrubs required, contract assignment
  • Located in Kenton, Ohio; relocation or travel flexibility strongly recommended as local candidates are not accepted
