Registered Telemetry Unit Nurse | Kenton, Ohio

A healthcare facility in Kenton, OH is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with telemetry experience to provide comprehensive care to a diverse patient population on a medical/telemetry step-down unit. This contract position offers the opportunity to work with a high volume of cardiac patients including those undergoing cardiac rule outs, CHF exacerbations, and pre/post cardiac catheterization care. Additionally, care for alcohol detox patients is provided.

Candidate qualifications include valid RN licensure with compact state coverage or in-state license, current certifications in BLS and ACLS, and 1 year of RN experience-preferably with prior acute care hospital exposure and telemetry experience. Dysrhythmia exam proficiency is required, with resources provided for study. Skills in titrating drips such as Cardizem, Nitro, and Heparin are essential (no pressors administered).

Experience with managing cardiac patients requiring continuous monitoring and responding to changes in clinical condition is critical.

Shift details include 12-hour night shifts with alternating every other weekend and holiday coverage, with flexible hour guarantees. The 36-bed unit is equipped with Alaris pumps and Hercules beds, supporting a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:4 to 1:5. The care team includes unit secretaries and patient care technicians, contributing to a supportive work environment focused on patient safety and quality outcomes.
