Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Trillium Construction is now seeking a Maintenance Mechanic in Kent!
Pay rate is up to $32an hour, DOE.The heavy equipment maintenance mechanic is in charge of management of the company’s equipment and maintenance operations. Schedules and prioritizes equipment repairs and maintenance as well as assigning equipment to crews and projects. Reports to the Lead Maintenance Mechanic.
Equipment Used:
All heavy highway equipment and vehicles, mechanic tools, cranes, forklifts.
Hours of Work:
Full-Time Monday through Friday. Hours and work schedule will vary depending on project timelines.
- Supervises maintenance functions for the company.
- Troubleshoots malfunctions in the equipment and repairs of equipment.
- Performs routing maintenance checks and adjustments on such items as fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, clutches, changes filters and oil.
- Performs maintenance and repair activities on various pieces of heavy equipment including but not limited to heavy‑duty trucks, cranes, forklifts, seal coat tank, and paint equipment.
- Engages in travel to perform necessary equipment maintenance at job sites as required.
- Maintains service logs and records of maintenance on vehicles and motorized equipment.
- Assists the management team with purchasing/selling equipment.
- Keeps tools, equipment, and work area clean, organized, and in good working condition.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to perform a broad range of automotive repairs and heavy highway equipment.
- Ability to organize assignments to meet work requirements.
- Ability to analyze data for evaluation of equipment efficiencies.
- Ability to communicate orally with employees and management team.
- Ability to make independent judgment in making decisions.
- Ability to read and understand maintenance and repair manuals.
- Knowledge of and operation of general automotive and mechanical; motorized equipment repair, maintenance and testing.
- Knowledge in gas and diesel internal combustion engines; heavy equipment, diesel engines and hydraulics.
- Knowledge of different equipment such as forklifts, bobcats, boom lifts and cranes.
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years managing heavy highway equipment maintenance facility with extensive knowledge of heavy highway equipment and vehicles.
- Must have the required knowledge, skills and abilities, methods, materials, and equipment.
- Must possess a current medical card, a valid Washington Driver’s License, a clean driving record and must have your own tools.
- ASE Certification preferred.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds (physical effort is required).
