Organization Summary

Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.

Position Summary

The Caseworker plays a vital role in supporting refugees and immigrants as they navigate the challenges of rebuilding their lives in a new community. This position provides strengths-based, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed case management to individuals and families navigating the challenges of settling into a new community. This includes supporting participants through community integration and helping them move toward long-term self-sufficiency.

The Caseworker assesses needs, develops service plans, coordinates referrals, and ensures access to essential resources. This role works closely with program staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure immigrants and refugees receive timely, dignified, and effective support.

This is a limited-term position funded through a grant agreement until June 30th, 2027 and contingent upon funding extension.

Role & Responsibilities

Case Management & Participant Support

  • Conduct initial intake to collect demographic data and assess program eligibility.
  • Develop individualized service plans that reflect participant-identified goals and benchmarks.
  • Provide ongoing case management support to address barriers to self-sufficiency, including but not limited to housing, employment, health care, education, and public benefits.
  • Offer orientation and coaching related to community resources, transportation, U.S. systems, and cultural norms.
  • Assist with coordination of appointments, referrals, and access to services.
  • Serve as a cultural liaison and advocate for participants within the broader service landscape.
  • Conduct regular participant check-ins via phone, virtual meetings, home visits, or in-office appointments.
  • Empower participants to take active roles in achieving their goals.
  • Provide participants with resources and training as necessary to ensure appropriate services are completed.
  • Refer participants to relevant resources and follow up to ensure successful linkage and service outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with local service providers.
  • Provide feedback, insight, and suggestions to further develop our internal systems and programs.
  • Other related tasks as assigned.

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, documentation, and participant records.
  • Keep all information updated in a secure database.
  • Complete all required reports and data entry in a timely manner.
  • Participate in monitoring, audits, and quality assurance activities.
  • Monitor progress toward participant goals and conduct case closures when services are complete.
