Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Area Manager to oversee multiple property locations across our Seattle assets. This role requires travel around the Seattle area and is responsible for ensuring the operational excellence and financial performance of properties under their management. Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Area Manager will act as a strategic leader, mentor on‑site teams, and implement processes that align with company objectives.

You will oversee properties and a team of individuals working towards our common goal.

What You’ll Do
  • Manage a portfolio of properties across multiple states, ensuring each meets or exceeds company standards and performance goals.
  • Conduct regular on‑site inspections to evaluate operations, compliance, and property conditions.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans in collaboration with Property Managers to enhance property value and profitability.
  • Streamline operational processes such as maintenance, procurement, and reporting to optimize regional performance.
Leadership and Team Development
  • Mentor and support Property Managers, fostering growth and accountability within their teams.
  • Lead weekly calls with Property Managers to review goals, address challenges, and share best practices.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and assist with professional development planning for on‑site teams.
Financial and Operational Excellence
  • Review and approve purchase orders (POs) to ensure alignment with budgets and financial objectives.
  • Monitor financial performance across the portfolio and provide regular updates to the Director of Operations.
  • Partner with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective budget management.
Tenant and Vendor Relations
  • Support Property Managers in resolving tenant issues and driving tenant satisfaction.
  • Oversee leasing processes, including compliance with tenant screening and lease negotiation policies.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure service quality and cost efficiency.
Compliance and Risk Management
  • Ensure properties comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to address risks and maintain regulatory compliance.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in business, Property Management, or a related field (preferred not required).
  • Experience:

    3+ years of regional property management experience, preferably in multifamily or student housing.
  • Leadership and mentoring experience, with a proven track record of managing diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in property management software, such as Yardi, and strong reporting skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex portfolios across multiple states.
  • Availability to travel frequently, including overnight trips.
