Summary
The Controller is responsible for planning, directing, and managing all accounting activities for the organization. This includes month-end close, financial reporting, tax compliance, accounts payable oversight, audit coordination, and internal control development. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong technical accounting skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for developing high‑performing teams.
Key Responsibilities Essential Functions- Lead and manage all accounting operations for WCP Solutions, including the month‑end close process.
- Prepare and analyze financial information; prepare journal entries and perform general ledger reconciliations.
- Oversee the Accounts Payable department, providing coaching, training, and leadership to ensure accuracy and protection of company assets.
- Prepare recurring sales tax and property tax reports.
- Monitor legislation, regulatory updates, and accounting standards that influence financial operations.
- Maintain and administer financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.
- Support preparation of documentation for annual tax returns.
- Serve as primary contact for auditors during annual reviews and audits.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key financial vendors and partners.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (equivalent experience will be considered).
- Minimum three years of experience in Accounting or a related field preferred.
- Minimum two years of management or supervisory experience required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and current versions of Microsoft Office.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to develop, coach, and motivate teams.
- Demonstrated professionalism and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Customer service–oriented mindset; able to operate under strict deadlines.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail; able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Adaptable, approachable, and flexible in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to use 10‑key by touch.
- Professional office environment.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and perform occasional bending or stooping for filing.
- Frequent use of standard office equipment.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
