Purchasing Specialist – Tools Distribution (Onsite Kent, WA)

This hands‑on purchasing role supports daily purchasing activities by coordinating with vendors, tracking inbound shipments, and keeping inventory data accurate.

• Support daily purchasing activities by coordinating with vendors, tracking inbound shipments, and maintaining accurate inventory data.
• Ensure purchase orders are completed correctly and materials arrive on time.
• Review inventory levels and run reports to determine purchase order release quantities.
• Align PO releases with demand trends, customer forecasts, and production needs.
• Monitor open purchase orders, identify delays, and escalation issues when needed.
• Coordinate with vendors on availability, lead times, and product readiness.
• Track delivery commitments and follow up to keep orders on schedule.
• Assist in the direct import process by supporting documentation flow and coordinating with freight forwarders.
• Track inbound freight, container schedules, and shipment milestones to provide visibility.
• Enter, maintain, and track purchase orders from creation through receipt.
• Expedite urgent or delayed orders to maintain continuity of supply.
• Collaborate with vendors and the Purchasing Manager on pricing, ship dates, or quantity changes.
• Verify quantities of received items, build shipping receivers, and post receipts to inventory.
• Maintain accurate shipment and arrival information in Acumatica and resolve discrepancies.

• At least 3 years of experience in purchasing or buying in a US‑based distribution, wholesale, or manufacturing environment.
• Experience placing and managing purchase orders.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and ERP systems.
• Ability to interpret data, run basic reports, and identify trends or discrepancies.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to prioritize workload and take initiative.
• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Preferred: experience supporting import logistics and shipment tracking; knowledge of warehouse operations and inbound receiving processes.
• Must be 100% onsite in Kent, Washington (no hybrid/remote) and authorized to work in the US; no visa sponsorship.

Salary Range is: $22 - $34 per hour
