HGV Technician

We need an HGV Technician for a workshop-based role at our Sevenoaks depot.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 07:00 to 16:30. The company offers a basic salary of £48,000 per year, plus overtime at 1.5x the hourly rate.

A specialist truck rental company with over 40 years’ experience, still owner-managed, operating nationwide from our head office and four UK depots.

The role will involve working on a range of Commercial Vehicles, including Tippers, Tipper/Grabs, and Hotboxes, from 3.5T Towable Units to 32T Tipper/Grabs for a leading Truck rental and sales company.

For this position, you will need to hold qualifications in HGV/Commercial Mechanics to the equivalent of NVQ Level 3 / City of Guilds / Full Main Dealership Apprenticeship.

Hold a full, current driving licence and a minimum of a Class 2 HGV licence (Class 1 desirable but not essential).

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

* Vehicle Diagnostics (using the latest Jal-Test vehicle diagnostic equipment)

* Inspections and servicing

* Repair of vehicle defects

* MOT preparation

* Preventative maintenance

* Completion of compliance documentation

The role includes a service van (for business use only), a fuel card, a mobile phone, and overalls. The working hours are from 07:00 to 16:30, with 20 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, statutory days, and company pension, plus overtime paid at 1.5x the hourly rate. Monthly pay on the 27th of every month.
