We are looking for experienced Mental Health Practitioners – Nurses/Social Workers and Occupational Therapists – to work in Primary Care Networks (PCNs) as part of the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS).
These new positions will provide essential mental health support to GP surgeries across Kent. PCNs are groups of GP practices working together within a local geographical area, and there are numerous posts available across the county.
It is an exciting time to join Kent services as we launch a programme to transform community Mental Health services. These roles are the building blocks for those developments.
You will primarily work within the PCN multi‑disciplinary team, alongside other primary care staff, and maintain close links with the community mental health multi‑disciplinary team (MDT). The practitioner will access and draw down on secondary mental health services, effectively acting as a bridge between primary and secondary care by delivering high‑quality mental health care in primary care settings.
The role requires a highly competent and autonomous practitioner with strong assessment skills and in‑depth knowledge of local resources. You will function as the gate‑keeper and guardian for referrals to secondary care services.
We are seeking practitioners who can make a difference by providing high‑quality interventions within our new primary care integrated mental health service. You will be an important member of our primary care team.
We are a Disability Confident employer, welcoming applicants who declare they have a disability and meet the essential job criteria.
About the Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust: we care for the mental health and well‑being of people across Kent and Medway, supporting adults with a wide range of needs. Covering the whole county and both hospital and community settings, we provide easier access for the 1.8 million residents. Our vision is simple: to help communities not just live with mental illness, but live well. We are guided by our values of caring, inclusive, curious and confident.
Join us if you share our passion for better mental health care and want to be part of a team that works well together.
The post holder must hold a full, valid UK driving licence and have access to a car or vehicle for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
