We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated Housing and Recovery Worker to join our team in West Kent. You’ll reach out to people experiencing rough sleeping — often with complex needs such as mental ill health, substance misuse, or learning disabilities — and support them to find and keep safe accommodation.
You’ll build trust with people who may be wary of traditional services, helping them to access housing, health care, and the support they need to rebuild their lives. Working closely with local partners, you’ll be part of a dedicated team making lasting change for some of the most vulnerable people in the community.
The role requires- Excellent communication and people skills and experience of working with people living in Porchlight Supported accommodation and in community settings however candidates without this experience / knowledge will still be considered as full training and ongoing support will be provided.
- An understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people.
- Experience of helping vulnerable and complex people and supporting them through a process of change.
- A sound understanding of the support needs of people who are experiencing homelessness or with low incomes, including rent payments/arrears.
- A commitment to supporting people by helping them to build on their strengths.
- Driver with own transport
9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with some flexibility required.
