Quantity Surveyor

I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a client for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support delivery across Highways works in Kent. This is a freelance opportunity with an immediate start, offering the chance to join a busy infrastructure programme.

The Role

You will be responsible for the commercial management of highways schemes, with a strong focus on highways maintenance contracts. The successful candidate will be confident managing costs across reactive and planned maintenance works, ensuring robust commercial control from start to final account.

Key Responsibilities

· Managing day-to-day commercial activities across highways maintenance works

· Measurement, valuations, and cost reporting

· Managing subcontractor accounts and payments

· Handling variations, compensation events, and change control

· Forecasting and cash flow reporting

· Supporting delivery teams to ensure projects are delivered within budget

· Final accounts and commercial close-out

Requirements

· Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within highways or civil engineering

· Strong experience working on highways maintenance contracts (reactive & planned works)

· Good working knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4 preferred)

· Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

· Available to start at short notice

· Rate dependent on experience
