Dean and Vice President, College of Honors and Global Education

Basic Function- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the College of Honors and Global Education, serving as the principal administrator for honors education and global engagement initiatives. Reports to the Executive Vice President and Provost.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive vision for the College of Honors and Global Education.
- Lead strategic planning, establish goals, and manage resources to achieve objectives for honors and global education programs.
- Lead the university in creating a vision and direction for international activities and ensure the strategy is communicated and implemented throughout the university.
- Provide strategic oversight of international partnerships and global program development, cultivating, evaluating, and stewarding institutional relationships abroad to ensure initiatives align with the university’s mission, uphold academic standards, and expand global learning opportunities.
- Represent the College and university at internal and external meetings, events, and professional organizations.
- Oversee all academic, advising, and co-curricular programs within the College.
- Collaborate with deans, chairs, and faculty to expand honors curriculum, global learning opportunities, and high-impact experiences (e.g., study abroad, undergraduate research, living-learning communities).
- Ensure alignment with national standards and best practices in honors and global education.
- Ensure admission of highly qualified students into honors programs.
- Identify and cultivate students for prestigious national and international scholarships and awards.
- Support student success through advising, mentoring, and development of experiential learning opportunities.
- Recruit and retain accomplished faculty for honors and global education programs.
- Provide direct supervision to college staff and oversee personnel functions, ensuring compliance with university policies and applicable laws.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that supports professional development.
- Plan, monitor, and maintain budgets for honors and global education, including scholarship funds.
- Identify resource needs, recommend priorities, and seek external funding through grants, private giving, and entrepreneurial initiatives.
- Cultivate relationships with alumni, donors, and external partners to enhance program visibility and secure resources.
- Represent the university to agencies and organizations on matters related to honors and global education.
- Lead assessment and evaluation of honors and global education programs, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance with accreditation standards.
- Provide leadership in developing university-wide policies and initiatives related to honors and global education.
- Represent the university when traveling abroad to meet with various existing partners and when developing new connections.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Terminal degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution. Eight years of experience as a faculty member or administrator, including leadership in honors education, global engagement, or related areas. Academic record sufficient to qualify for faculty appointment as full professor in an appropriate discipline.
