The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha offers an array of activities designed to meet the unique interests and needs of young people throughout the Kenosha community. Employees at the Club exhibit passion and commitment that helps our community thrive.
We are looking for someone to prepare, cook and serve nutritious daily meals to students in accordance with defined standards and quality. This is a full‑time position with benefits.
Title:Head Cook
Reports To:Director of Youth Services/Youth Services Coordinator/Site Director
Position Responsibilities:- Maintaining compliance with DPI and USDA requirements
- Preparing menus for each meal in advance
- Keeping accurate records of meals served
- Keeping accurate production records for all items served daily at each meal service
- Preparing a variety of meats, poultry, vegetables, fruits, and other food items for cooking in a variety of kitchen equipment
- Promptly reporting equipment and food quality or shortage problems to Director of Youth Services
- Knowing and complying consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking. methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, recipes, policies, and procedures
- Ordering, stocking, and maintaining sufficient levels of food products to assure a smooth service period
- Portioning food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
- Maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation area
- Handling, storing, labeling, and rotating all products properly and in accordance with applicable state laws
- Cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen properly
- Serv Safe Sanitation Certification (obtained upon hire, but a plus if you already have it)
- Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised
- Must be able to work in a fast‑paced kitchen environment
- Must be willing to follow directions and ask questions for clarification if needed
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
School Year:
Monday – Thursday, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
