The Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha offers an array of activities designed to meet the unique interests and needs of young people throughout the Kenosha community. Employees at the Club exhibit passion and commitment that helps our community thrive.

We are looking for someone to perform park maintenance and a variety of tasks in the maintenance and cleaning of Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha properties. This position works primarily at our Baseball Park facility. This is a seasonal, part-time, day shift position, working 24 – 29 hours per week.

Job Title:

Seasonal Baseball Park, Grounds, and Maintenance Worker (April through October)

Reports To:

Maintenance and Parks Manager

Summary:

Under limited supervision, performs park maintenance, a variety of tasks in the maintenance and cleaning of Boys & Girls Club of Kenosha properties; and performs related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Operating equipment such as, but not limited to lawn mowers (zero turn, riding and push), UTV cart, trimmers, edger, and paint sprayer
  • Grooming and chalking ball fields
  • Performing park grounds tasks such as, but not limited to cutting, trimming, and edging of grass
  • Using paint sprayer to line athletic fields
  • Custodial work such as, but not limited to sweeping, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, disposing of trash, light painting
  • Reporting any concerns to equipment/building to supervisor.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and knowledge:
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of athletics is desired
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment used in parks maintenance/custodial work and skill in using them
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions, and ability to follow safety practices
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with BGCK staff and the public
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • This work involves working in all types of weather. There is frequent need to stand, stoop, bend, walk, and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course of the workday.
