This role oversees all plant engineering and maintenance operations to ensure optimal performance of equipment, utilities, and overall facilities. The position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to fostering a culture grounded in respect, integrity, inclusion, and safety.

Key Responsibilities Engineering Leadership & Project Management
  • Provide engineering direction and technical guidance for all site operations.
  • Identify, prioritize, and execute facility engineering projects, including development of multi‑year capital plans.
  • Manage the full project lifecycle: scope development, capital requests, scheduling, vendor coordination, budget control, and commissioning/training.
  • Recommend upgrades, replacements, or modifications to equipment and processing systems to improve plant performance.
  • Stay current with technology and industry standards relevant to plant operations.
  • Prepare and deliver required engineering documentation and reports.
Budgeting & Administrative Oversight
  • Create, manage, and control departmental operating and capital budgets.
  • Maintain accurate engineering records, including equipment documentation, drawings, inspection reports, and compliance files.
  • Monitor energy usage and lead initiatives to improve efficiency.
Regulatory & Compliance Management
  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and food production regulations.
  • Collaborate with regulatory and oversight agencies as needed.
  • Partner with internal teams and external engineering, architectural, and equipment service providers.
Food Safety & Quality
  • Support programs and practices that ensure the production of safe, high‑quality products in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities related to food safety and quality systems.
People Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and mentor the engineering and maintenance team.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing developmental feedback.
  • Foster positive working relationships across departments and levels of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical preferred).
  • 5-10 years of technical experience, ideally in a regulated manufacturing environment, with emphasis on preventive/predictive maintenance.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and manage complex projects.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
Preferred Experience
  • 5-10 years working in manufacturing with experience in project management, maintenance supervision, budget accountability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Experience developing project proposals, justifications, and capital plans.
