Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Packaging Engineer to join the LBSTeam in Kenosha, WI
. In this role you will have responsibility of supporting the design and development of packaging for commercial lighting products. You will develop the technical requirements for package designs, work with the design engineering team and operations team to define the scope of the mechanical requirements, develop quote packages for vendors, and validate the performance of the packaging designed. You will also work with vendors to clearly explain the scope of packaging projects and facilitate project completion.
Teamwork is essential and you will interface with engineering, marketing, purchasing and production, along with other departments as needed.
- Take complete responsibility for multiple new packages from design development through production.
- Knowledge of packaging design processes, analysis, and manufacturing.
- Define the technical requirements of packaging.
- Manage all engineering packaging information from prototype to production.
- Provide engineering, CAD modeling, simulation, drafting and prototypes while developing products.
- Apply analysis to complete designs to ensure proper fit and function.
- Optimize the packaging strategy for our businesses.
Education: BS in Mechanical engineering, packaging, or related field
Experience: 2-5 years engineering or product packaging experience.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills; verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational, time management and administrative skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, juggling projects and deadlines.
- This position requires occasional lifting up to 50lbs of weight.
- Knowledge and working use of Solid Works
Job Requirements:
- Package industry experience designing packages for interior commercial LED lighting.
- Sustainable packaging design with experience eliminating single use plastics from designs.
