Now Hiring:
Childcare Director

Under the direction of the Operations Director, the Childcare Director has primary impact in overall quality and effectiveness of the Kenosha YMCA Before and After School Enrichment (BASE), Summer Day Camp, and Early Childhood programs.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university in Human Development or Child Related Field Preferred.
  • Five years of experience in the field or a related field. Some director level experience preferred.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain WI State Licensing requirement of childcare administrator.
  • Must maintain registry level 14 or above.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, the core values of the YMCA and joy in working with youth of all ages.
  • Demonstrated success in program development, program management, and administration.
  • Knowledge of and skill in the application of the recognized theories, practices, and techniques associated with licensed childcare.
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Background check cannot contain offenses restricted by law.
  • Proven fiscal responsibility and budgeting ability.
  • CPR and AED certification required.
Essential Functions

Job responsibilities:

Responsibilities include overseeing the development and administration of the childcare department; leading program design, implementation, evaluation, and promotion; and ensuring effective staff scheduling, training, and supervision. The role is responsible for maintaining high safety standards, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and best practices, and managing financial operations in alignment with the Association’s goals. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, and able to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
