Time Grocery Clerk

Overview

• Serve customers and address their inquiries or direct them to appropriate personnel, assist in packing groceries during busy periods, and perform customer carry-outs when requested.
• Stock shelves with dry goods, dairy, and cooler items, ensuring proper rotation.
• Maintain department cleanliness and organization, including dusting, shelf cleaning, and spill cleanup, while conducting facing of shelves to enhance product aesthetics and check expiry dates.
• Perform daily floor checks and maintain sweep logbooks, conduct box runs to bring boxes from the back room to the front end, and fill out transfer sheets for products used from other departments.
• Break down pallets of stock, organize items onto carts, and assist the receiver by strapping into the cage and retrieving groceries from the back warehouse rack for shelf restocking.
• Unlock doors, maintain cleanliness of front entrance windows, and bring out garbage bins.
• Bring in carts and move them to the designated area, conduct a customer count and report to the manager, and check washrooms, ensure the van is locked, and plug in the cart machine.

• High school education preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Knowledge of health and safety guidelines, availability to work flexible hours.
• Forklift/power jack training and Smart Serve certification are assets.

Wage/Salary:
Starting at $17.60 – $19.00 per/hour (depending on experience)

Transportation:
Fresh Market Foods will cover a one-time round-trip travel cost to our location and back to the employee’s permanent residence at the end of the work period. This does not include costs for full trailer moves (household goods, trailers, or large personal belongings).
