Permanent Part-Time Registered Practical Nurse - Ambulatory Care Services

Join our team at Dryden Regional Health Centre as a Permanent Part-Time Registered Practical Nurse in Ambulatory Care Services.

Position Overview

The RPN provides client care according to the Professional Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario. They play a key role in promoting health, preventing illness, and supporting clients in achieving and maintaining optimal health, particularly in cases where clients are relatively stable and outcomes are predictable.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Maintain CNO Standards, evaluate client/family needs, collaborate for safety, provide health education, and perform nursing duties within scope.
  • Communication: Report clinical data, inform clients/families about procedures, establish rapport, document care, and serve as a preceptor for students and new staff.
  • Other Activities: Conduct chart audits, attend educational sessions, assist physicians, administer medications, perform wound care, and manage IV therapy among other duties.
  • Qualifications
    • Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
    • Knowledge of Emergency Room procedures and advanced wound care preferred
    • Current CPR certification
    • Good physical health and strong nursing skills
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, leadership, and mentoring skills
    • Proof of COVID vaccination prior to hire
    Additional Information

    This is a unionized position with a salary of $36.55/hr plus up to 11% in lieu of benefits.
