Position Overview

We are seeking a talented individual to join the Northern Peak HR team as a Human Resources Specialist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing HR support to our clients in Northwestern Ontario.

Location

The position will operate from our Thunder Bay office.

Compensation

CA $65,000.00 – CA $85,000.00 per year

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and provide guidance on all Human Resources policies and programs and ensure legislative compliance.
  • Develop and conduct training programs for employees on various HR topics.
  • Complete job evaluation and compensation analysis.
  • Ensure Health & Safety Compliance.
  • Support employee relations and organizational development initiatives.
  • Support employee recruitment and selection initiatives for clients.
  • Communicate HR policies and procedures to staff.
  • Maintain client documentation and records.
  • Conduct workplace investigations when required.
  • Conduct new employee orientation and administrative training for clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum three years of Human Resources experience.
  • Completed post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources or relevant/ related field.
  • Experience with conflict resolution, labour and employee relations would be considered an asset.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to travel within the region.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy, detail and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, self starter, initiative required to act under minimal supervision.
  • Strong planning skills and highly organized.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Must be able to use personal vehicle for work related travel.
