Position Overview
We are seeking a talented individual to join the Northern Peak HR team as a Human Resources Specialist. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing HR support to our clients in Northwestern Ontario.
LocationThe position will operate from our Thunder Bay office.
CompensationCA $65,000.00 – CA $85,000.00 per year
Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and provide guidance on all Human Resources policies and programs and ensure legislative compliance.
- Develop and conduct training programs for employees on various HR topics.
- Complete job evaluation and compensation analysis.
- Ensure Health & Safety Compliance.
- Support employee relations and organizational development initiatives.
- Support employee recruitment and selection initiatives for clients.
- Communicate HR policies and procedures to staff.
- Maintain client documentation and records.
- Conduct workplace investigations when required.
- Conduct new employee orientation and administrative training for clients.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum three years of Human Resources experience.
- Completed post-secondary diploma or degree in Human Resources or relevant/ related field.
- Experience with conflict resolution, labour and employee relations would be considered an asset.
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Must be able to travel within the region.
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy, detail and confidentiality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, self starter, initiative required to act under minimal supervision.
- Strong planning skills and highly organized.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Must be able to use personal vehicle for work related travel.
