About the role

The Vacation Student – Mine Engineering role offers an exceptional opportunity to learn and develop skills related to engineering and planning including but not limited to: mine development design and layouts, stope design and layouts, short term scheduling, ventilation, surveying and rock mechanics activities.

The position will be on a 5/2/4/3 9.5hr shifts schedule and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario.

The compensation range for this role is $29.00-$32.00 CAD.

Learn Mine Planning Software – primarily Deswik

Gain exposure to underground environment and participate in daily tasks with technical and operational personnel

Actively participate in regular safety inspections and safety meetings

Other duties as assigned by supervisor

About you

As a Vacation Student – Mine Engineering, you will be enrolled in your 3rd or 4th year of Mining Engineering in an accredited University. Prior co-op work experience is an asset, but not required. It is also important that you have / can demonstrate:

You will be returning to post-secondary in September

Proficient user of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Self-motivated/self-starter

High work standards and work ethic

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal abilities and willingness to work in a team atmosphere.
